Leo has worked in the telecommunications space for over a decade, after acquiring Stour Marine in 2012. He was responsible for the turnaround and change in strategy of the company, of which today has customers such as Google, Salesforce and Twilio. Leo founded Devyce, a B2B SaaS company, in 2020, which has been backed by Y Combinator. He is also the founder of YourBusinessNumber. Leo began his career at Goldman Sachs.
Steve was the first CTO of Cable&Wireless Global Mobile which delivered a $12.2 billion group value increase during its first ten years in operation. He also holds patents in very-small cellular design and intelligent network routing and has co-authored many papers on cellular and wireless systems. Steve has over 14 years management experience at Director level and currently operates a consultancy that supports telecommunications operators in technology, development and strategy. He co-founded Stour Marine alongside Ian MacIver and shaped the first network, parts of which are still in operation today.
Ioan oversees all aspects of network management and planning, whilst making sure that new customers are seamlessly integrated. He is also responsible for instituting internal workflows and processes to streamline operational performance. Prior to joining our team, Ioan has worked for the past 8 years as a voice engineer for various operators, such as Vodafone and Three. This has allowed him to build upon the knowledge gained from his BA in Networking from the Polytechnic University of Timisoara, and to perfect his skills by attending vendor specific trainings (Ericsson, Alcatel and Cisco) whilst also moving in the Project Management field based on his ITIL certification.
Mihai is responsable with all daily operations and escalations. He is also overlooking implementation activities and leads developing projects. Mihai joined Stour Marine in 2017 and he comes with a large experience in telecommunications field. He graduated Polytechnic University of Bucharest in 2011 with a MA in Advanced Signal Processing
Catalin comes from a background in finance where he has worked in Relationship Management for Raiffeisen Bank and some of the biggest banks in Romania. He joined Stour Marine in 2019 and he is responsabile for day to day Operations and Billing within Stour Marine.
Nick was an early investor in Stour Marine in 2012. He is the Co-Founder of Devyce, a B2B SaaS company, which today has investors such as Y Combinator, Garage Capital and FoundersX Ventures. From 2017-2020, Nick worked in a Business Development role at Stour Marine.
Ian has helped telecoms companies such as British Telecom, Cable&Wireless and Airwave (the UK's Emergency Services network) deliver innovative services at mass scale and has over 20 years of experience in Mobile. Ian co-founded Stour Marine with Steve Hobbs and was responsible for driving it from a small startup into a fully qualified Mobile Network Operator. He has now retired to a Non-Executive Directorship where he advises on future strategies and growth.
David is an advisor to the board at Stour Marine. He has held several roles across Telecoms and IoT. At British Telecom he led strategy within the A2P messaging unit, developed new businesses at BT Ventures as well as led product within BT’s Data & AI unit. David graduated with an MEng from Cambridge, UK being the 1st to complete undergraduate courses in both Manufacturing Engineering and Natural Science. He today works as a Venture Partner for Tera VC out of Tallinn, Estonia.
Sven joins Stour Marine Ltd. as advisor to support international expansion / Business Development. Currently Chief Revenue Officer for Noumena Digital AG, Sven spent the last decade as Head International Business Development for Twilio Inc. and previously was SVP Business Development at Upptalk and worked at Amazon and Telefónica. Sven holds an MBA from EDHEC Business School in France and lives in Munich, Germany.
